Flutter has rebranded its PokerStars VR game to Vegas Infinite as part of the relaunch of the product.

The new game will be re-released as a free-to-play social casino experience based in a 3D virtual city setting.

Initially launched in 2018 as part of The Stars Group, PokerStars VR offered virtual reality (VR) poker tables where people could interact with one another.

When The Stars Group was acquired by Flutter Entertainment on 5 May 2020, this meant the development and management of the game was also transferred to the new company.

As part of the relaunch, Vegas Infinite (PokerStars VR) will now offer a range of casino games in the VR venue, including blackjack, roulette, slots, craps and proprietary title Rocket Rush.

Poker will continue to be a focus for the application, with Spin & Go, Multi-Table Tournaments (MTTs) and the Metaverse Poker Tour (MPT).

James O’Reilly,Online Casino Games for Real Money PokerStars Director of VR & Innovation, said: “As we approach our fifth anniversary, it’s incredible to think how far our game has come.

“From a cutting-edge experiment in applying virtual reality to the poker table, we’ve grown to become a living entertainment destination with a full suite of games and experiences played in otherworldly environments that are home to an avid community of players.

“Today, we’re much more than poker and much more than VR.”

The new location in Vegas Infinite will include a full casino floor, as well as rooftop areas that overlook the crafted cityscape.

In addition, Flutter will release the title on PC without the need for a headset.

O’Reilly continued: “Vegas Infinite is where we’re taking our players next and there’s lots more in store.”

Recently, Flutter has announced a number of changes to its Board of Directors, such as Mary Turner who will exit at the end of the month.
